The Bosch Rexroth DR Pressure Reducing Valves are 2-way valves used to maintain a stable, reduced pressure (P-to-A) in a secondary part of a hydraulic circuit, ensuring that downstream components are not exposed to the full system pressure. The valve's primary function is to modulate the flow from the high-pressure inlet (P) to the reduced-pressure outlet (A). It works by comparing the pressure in line A against a manually or electrically adjustable spring force: if the pressure in A rises above the set value, the main spool shifts to throttle the flow, thereby maintaining the desired reduced pressure. The series includes direct-operated types (DR 6 DP) for smaller flows up and pilot-operated types (DR) for larger flows up and higher pressures. Additionally, some versions offer an optional integrated check valve to allow for free reverse flow (A-to-P) from the reduced-pressure circuit back to the inlet.
