The DGMX2 3 PAL FW S 40 pressure reducing valve is produced by Vickers within the SystemStak Modular Valves series and is intended to maintain a controlled downstream pressure in stacked hydraulic manifolds used in automated machinery. The unit installs as a subplate or manifold-mounted element, so it can be sandwiched between other SystemStak modules without separate piping. An ISO 4401-03 interface sets the port pattern and bolt spacing, ensuring interchangeability with standard CETOP 03 base plates. The housing is cast iron, providing rigidity and resistance to cyclic pressure loading. Buna-N seals are fitted to isolate internal passages from external leakage when exposed to mineral oil. Pressure adjustment is located at the A-port end, which allows access from the left side of a valve stack. A screw and locknut mechanism sets the spring load, letting maintenance personnel dial in a specific secondary pressure and secure it against vibration. The valve performs a P-line pressure reduction piloted from port A, so the supply line is throttled according to feedback taken from the actuator side. Adjustable range extends from 20 bar to 250 bar, covering typical control circuits that require moderate pressure regulation.

The design accommodates flows up to 60 L/min, permitting use with medium-size pumps found in machine tool and process lines. It withstands a maximum inlet pressure of 315 bar, matching common system ratings without risk of structural deformation. Operating temperature spans from ‑4 °C to 80 °C, so the valve remains functional in unheated plants as well as warm oil reservoirs. Petroleum-based hydraulic oils are the recommended media, giving reliable lubrication for the poppet and spool surfaces. Fluid cleanliness must be maintained at or better than ISO 4406 code 19/17/14, reducing the chance of silt erosion at the throttling edge. A dedicated 7/16-20 UNF (SAE 4) gauge port lets technicians verify reduced pressure without disturbing stack connections. At the rated flow the pressure drop across the valve is minimal, preserving pump efficiency. With these limits, the valve supports consistent pressure control in automated presses, injection molds, and other hydraulic equipment that relies on modular assembly.
