The XCT03B20 pressure reducing valve is produced by Vickers as part of the Pressure Reducing Valves series. It limits downstream pressure in hydraulic circuits used for automation tasks. The valve is built in nominal size 03, giving a 3/8-inch flow path that suits compact manifolds. Main ports use 3/8 NPTF threads to simplify connection to standard pipework, while a cover screw with a 5/16-18 UNC thread supports fast access for spring adjustments. A 14 mm across-flats locknut holds the setting once the adjustment is complete. An integral check valve permits free reverse flow, allowing one line to serve both pressure reduction and return without extra components. System monitoring is available through a G1/4 high-pressure gauge port on the inlet side and a G1/4 reduced-pressure gauge port on the outlet side. The drain line keeps the pilot chamber stable and must not exceed 1.7 bar (25 psi) to maintain correct operation.

The XCT03B20 accommodates inlet pressures up to 210 bar (3000 psi) and delivers a maximum flow of 26 L/min (6.7 US gpm) under code –b, enabling it to regulate medium-capacity actuators. To start controlling, it requires a minimum inlet-to-outlet differential of 10 bar (150 psi), and it can lower pressure as far as 5.25 bar (76 psi) within its adjustment range. Correct function is maintained in ambient temperatures from –20 °C (–4 °F) to +70 °C (158 °F), which suits mobile or factory installations. Petroleum-based fluids may reach +80 °C (176 °F), whereas water-containing fluids are limited to +54 °C (130 °F) to protect seals. These thermal limits help prevent viscosity change and cavitation. Together the pressure and temperature ratings confirm suitability for typical industrial hydraulic loops that need stable reduced pressure.
