The KDG3V533C95A4S10 valve belongs to the KDG Non-feedback Proportional Valves series and is produced by Vickers. It is a hydraulic pilot-operated device used to modulate flow in automated hydraulic circuits. The body matches the ISO 4401-05, NFPA D05 interface so it can be bolted directly to common subplates. Because it is hydraulic pilot operated, the main spool is positioned by a controlled pilot flow rather than direct mechanical linkage. A spring-centered double operator arrangement recenters the spool when pilot pressure is removed. Pilot lines attach through a 7/16-20 UNF-2B port which simplifies connection to standard fittings. Normal actuation requires a pilot pressure of 15.5 bar, equal to 225 psi. Its meter-in only configuration manages flow at the inlet ports to stabilize actuator speed. At a 10 bar pressure drop the valve passes 95 L/min, or 25 US gpm. Flow setting repeatability is held within 1 %, providing consistent performance between cycles.
Pressure limits and construction details align the valve with demanding duty cycles in industrial machines. Ports P, A, and B can operate continuously up to 315 bar, equivalent to 4568 psi. The same 315 bar figure is also the rated fatigue pressure, allowing long-term cycling without structural degradation. The return port T tolerates up to 70 bar, or 1015 psi, so back-pressure in the reservoir line is accommodated. It is built with a 33 spool that provides a closed center pattern while bleeding the A and B ports. Command hysteresis is limited to 4 %, reducing deadband during proportional control. Fluorocarbon seals resist high temperature petroleum fluids and maintain leakage control. The mating subplate surface must be machined to 1.1 µm, or 45 µin, to prevent bypass leakage across lands. A flatness tolerance of 0.013 mm is specified to keep the seals uniformly compressed.
