The PBDG4S4L-016C-50-H valve is produced by Vickers and belongs to the Directional Control Valves series. It uses solenoid actuation so the spool can be shifted electrically from a remote control system. A 24 VDC coil powers the solenoid which lets the unit integrate with low-voltage PLC outputs. Instaplug male and female connectors provide quick mating and removal of the coil wiring during maintenance. There are indicator lights that give immediate visual confirmation of coil energization. The valve is a single-stage design which reduces internal pressure losses and simplifies troubleshooting. A spring-centered three-position arrangement returns the spool to neutral when the coils are de-energized to prevent unintended actuator movement. The D05 size and an ISO 4401-05 mounting interface allow the body to bolt directly to common subplates in industrial hydraulic manifolds.
The flow capacity reaches 20 gpm, so the valve can manage medium-sized actuator circuits without exceeding recommended velocities. A maximum operating pressure of 3000 psi defines the highest system pressure that may be applied to the ports, while the tank port is limited to 1000 psi to protect return-line components. Buna-N seals are used because they resist swelling in the specified petroleum oils that serve as the working fluid. To maintain reliable spool movement, the oil must meet a cleanliness level of 20/18/15 per ISO 4406. Continuous service is supported between 20 °C (68 °F) and 50 °C (122 °F) which keeps viscosity and seal hardness within safe limits. These thermal and contamination limits, together with the pressure and flow ratings, define the operating envelope for automated hydraulic motion control.
