The PBDG4S4-012C-D-60 valve is produced by Vickers within the Directional Control Valves series and directs flow in hydraulic automation circuits. It is solenoid operated so electrical signals trigger the spool movement instead of pilot flow. The coil accepts 220 VAC at 50 Hz or 240 VAC at 60 Hz, allowing connection to common plant power supplies. A response time between 20 ms and 40 ms supports systems that require moderate switching speed. The valve contains a Spool 2 closed-center element so all ports are blocked when the coil is de-energized. A spring-centered three-position arrangement returns the spool to the neutral location when power is removed. The design is single stage to keep the package compact and reduce pressure drop. It withstands operating pressures up to 3600 psi, enabling use in high-pressure machinery. Subplate or manifold mounting simplifies replacement in modular hydraulic manifolds.
The unit handles flow rates up to 25 gpm, or 95 L/min, which matches medium-size actuator demands. The tank port is rated for 1000 psi to prevent back-pressure induced seal damage. An ISO 4401-05 / NFPA D05 interface standardizes the port pattern so the valve fits common subplates. Petroleum oils are the recommended working fluids, ensuring compatibility with internal materials. Buna-N seals are fitted to contain these oils and resist wear. System cleanliness must meet ISO 4406 class 20/18/15 to limit particle-induced spool sticking. There is no manual override, so actuation depends solely on the electrical solenoid. The valve is intended for manifolds where automated direction control improves cycle accuracy.
