The KBFDg4V-5-2C50N25-Z-M1-PC7-H7-12-EN143 electrohydraulic directional control valve is produced by Vickers within the Directional Control Valves series. It governs spool position in hydraulic circuits for precise motion control. The valve accepts a ±10 V DC command signal, allowing proportional positioning across its range, while needing at least 0.25 V at the input to overcome the threshold. Its internal electronics operate from a 21–36 V DC supply and can draw up to 3 A during peak demand. A common mode voltage limit of 18 V protects the differential amplifier against excessive ground offsets. Pulse-width modulation at 10 kHz drives the solenoids to minimize dither. Continuous operation is possible because the drive stage supports a 100% duty cycle. The electrical interface is a 7-pin connector supplied without a mating plug, and pin C remains unpowered in this configuration as it is not connected.

For closed-loop regulation, the valve employs an LVDT to sense spool displacement, and the electronics present a ±10 V DC position monitor output with a 10 Ω source impedance for direct connection to controllers. The feedback circuit maintains differential voltage between coil D and terminal e below 100 mV, ensuring balanced drive currents. Housing seals provide IP65 and IP67 ingress protection so the assembly withstands dust and water spray encountered on mobile or industrial power units. The design remains stable across oil temperatures from 0 to 70 °C, protecting elastomers and maintaining consistent viscosity. These environmental capabilities, together with continuous current capability and the unused enable path, allow the valve to deliver reliable directional control in hydraulic automation systems that require real-time position feedback and rugged field installation.
