The F3-DG3S-8-2A-10 directional valve belongs to the Directional Control Valves series and is produced by Vickers for use in hydraulic automation circuits where rapid flow reversal is required. It tolerates a maximum operating pressure of 210 bar (3000 psi), allowing it to handle high-pressure supply lines without external relief devices. Pilot actuation can be performed at pressures up to 210 bar (3000 psi), and the tank port is rated for the same 210 bar limit, so back-pressure from downstream components does not exceed the housing capacity. For Type 2 actuation the pilot stage needs at least 10 bar (150 psi) whether flow is directed from port p to a or from port p to b, ensuring reliable spool shift under low-pressure startup conditions. The valve installs on an ISO 4401-08 (NFPA D08) interface, matching common CETOP-08 manifolds in modular stacks.
In service the valve passes 227 l/min (60 US gpm) at 140 bar in the 2A spool configuration and rises to 380 l/min (100 US gpm) when line pressure is reduced to 70 bar, so designers can size pumps according to expected load. The fluorocarbon F3 seals resist mineral oils and elevated temperatures, working with a permitted fluid viscosity range of 15 to 128 cSt (75 to 600 SUS) to maintain low leakage across normal oil grades. The assembly is built to CETOP 8 (NG 25) envelope dimensions, simplifying replacement of existing NG 25 units in power packs. Continuous operation is specified between −18 °C and 66 °C (0 °F to 150 °F), enabling outdoor machinery to run in cold starts or warm ambient conditions without performance loss.
