The DG3S88C10 valve is produced by Vickers within the Directional Control Valves series and is intended to route hydraulic flow during automated machine cycles. The unit is hydraulically operated, so pilot pressure shifts the spool without electrical solenoids. It employs a two-stage design in which a small pilot section moves the main spool for stable control at high flow. Spool type 8 defines the available flow paths for circuit logic, while a spring-centered return forces the spool to neutral when pilot pressure is removed. An external pilot supply lets the designer feed control pressure from a dedicated line, and an internal pilot drain returns pilot oil to tank without extra hoses. The mounting face follows the ISO 4401-08 (D08) pattern for direct installation on standard manifolds, and a 350 bar (5000 psi) pressure rating supports high-pressure industrial circuits.
The valve passes up to 700 L/min (185 gpm), enabling large actuators to move without undue pressure drop. Required fluid cleanliness of ISO 4406 19/17/14 limits contamination that could score the spool. Buna-N seals contain common petroleum-based fluids and resist most system additives. A working range from −20 °C to 70 °C keeps the valve functional in cold storage areas or hot press lines. Compact dimensions—10.44 in long, 4.67 in wide, and 5.23 in high—fit confined manifold stations and allow straightforward service access. These characteristics let the DG3S88C10 control start, stop, and directional functions in high-flow, high-pressure hydraulic automation.
