The KBDG5V-5-2C90N-M2-PE7-H1-10 proportional directional valve is manufactured by Vickers as part of the DG5 Two-Stage Directional Valves series and is used to guide hydraulic actuators in automated machinery. Its two-stage construction employs a low-power pilot to shift the main spool, giving stable control at higher flows. An all-ports-blocked spool stops fluid movement when the input signal is lost, and a rated port flow of 90 L/min keeps motion within design limits. Energy losses are minimised because the pressure drop at that flow is limited to 5 bar, while the main pressure rating of 315 bar allows operation in high-pressure circuits and the tank port tolerates 210 bar of back-pressure. The valve mounts on a subplate so removal does not disturb pipework, and fluorocarbon seals resist aggressive hydraulic fluids and elevated oil temperatures.
An electromagnetic pilot coil rated at 24 V DC drives the unit, and on-board electronics translate a 4–20 mA command into proportional spool displacement for closed-loop speed control. A 7-pin connector with an included plug forms the electrical interface, allowing quick exchange without rewiring. Housing the amplifier inside the body removes the need for a separate card and simplifies cabinet layout. Reliable performance is maintained between –20 °C and 70 °C, so the valve can be installed in cold storage areas or near warm reservoirs without additional conditioning.
