The F3-DG5S4-102C-2-53 valve is manufactured by Vickers and is part of the DG5 Two-Stage Directional Valves series. It directs hydraulic fluid in automation circuits by combining a pilot-operated 4-way layout with a spring-centered spool that returns to neutral when the solenoid is de-energized. The spool is type 2, so every port is closed to tank in the center position for low leakage standby. Shifting is commanded by a DG4S4-01-50 air gap pilot valve that delivers rapid, repeatable movement of the main stage. The valve handles a recommended flow of 473 l/min (125 USgpm) and can pass up to 946 l/min (250 USgpm) without malfunction when higher throughput is required. It is supplied in a 1.25 in size that matches the NFPA D10 envelope used on larger manifolds.
Fluorocarbon (Viton) seals resist hot oil and ensure containment at pressures up to 207 bar (3000 psi) on ports P, A, and B. Electrical power reaches the pilot section through a 1/2 NPTF conduit entry, while 0.4375-20 UNF-2B threads provide test connections for pressure gauges during commissioning. The mounting face conforms to ISO 4401-10, identical to the NFPA D10 pattern, and it is fastened with six 19.8 mm bolts tightened to 285 Nm (210 ft·lb) for secure seating. These six mounting holes simplify alignment and maintain gasket compression under load. The specified interface, fastener count, and torque keep the assembly stable when both maximum flow and rated pressure occur simultaneously.
