The DG5V-8-S-2C-M-FPA5WL-H-10 valve belongs to the DG5 Two-Stage Directional Valves series and is produced by Vickers for hydraulic automation systems. It uses a solenoid-piloted two-stage mechanism to shift the main spool, enabling reliable flow control in pressure lines. Spool code 2 provides closed-to-T blocking on all ports, which isolates actuators when the valve is in the neutral position. A spring-centered arrangement returns the spool to center when the solenoids are de-energized, improving safety during power loss. The integrated pilot valve follows the CETOP 3 standard, allowing common service parts and familiar maintenance procedures. Internal pilot pressure feeds the pilot stage, while an external drain returns pilot flow to tank and prevents back-pressure interference. The subplate interface conforms to ISO 4401-08 (NFPA D08), so the unit mounts directly to standard manifolds without additional adapters.
The valve is fitted with a 24 VDC coil rated at 30 W, delivering consistent magnet force for pilot actuation while limiting heat rise in continuous duty. Flying-lead wiring is supplied under coil type F, giving installers flexibility to route conductors through the W housing that accepts 1/2 NPT conduit fittings. Primary power and feedback lines terminate in a PA5 five-pin connector, which carries up to 600 V and 8 A in accordance with NFPA T3.5.29-1980. An IP65 junction box seals the termination area against dust and water jets, supporting outdoor or wash-down installations. Built-in indicator lights show coil energization status, and the presence of these lamps simplifies troubleshooting during commissioning and service.
