The DG5S4046CWB40 is a two-stage directional valve manufactured by Vickers within the DG5 Two-Stage Directional Valves series. It directs hydraulic flow in automated circuits through a pilot-operated 4-way spool so actuators can extend and retract as commanded. The spring-centered spool returns to a neutral position when pilot pressure is removed, maintaining system stability. A wet armature solenoid shifts the pilot stage, keeping electrical components isolated from fluid and reducing noise. The valve handles operating pressures up to 207 bar (3000 psi) in the main ports to suit medium-pressure power units. Pilot lines may also be supplied at pressures up to 207 bar (3000 psi), allowing consistent actuation force. During full stroke, the body passes as much as 946 l/min (250 USgpm), so it supports high-flow cylinders and motors without excessive pressure drop.
For installation, the DG5S4046CWB40 mounts to an ISO 4401-10 interface that aligns fluid passages with standard manifolds, while the NFPA D10 pattern ensures interchangeability with North American subplates. Six mounting holes with 19.8 mm diameter accept fasteners that clamp the valve evenly to the manifold, and each bolt can be tightened to 285 N·m to prevent leakage under load cycles. The external drain tank port tolerates back-pressure up to 207 bar (3000 psi) so return lines may share elevated pressure circuits. A .4375-20 UNF-2B threaded test port is provided for convenient connection of gauges during commissioning and troubleshooting.
