The DG5S4-103C-T-50-S92 valve is manufactured by Vickers in the DG5 Two-Stage Directional Valves series and is intended to route hydraulic fluid in automated machinery. As a 4-way pilot-operated directional valve, it shifts pressurized oil between service ports under solenoid control. The 1-1/4 in size that follows ISO 4401-10 dimensions supports installations where large passages are required. A standardized ISO 4401-10 (NFPA D10) mounting interface allows the unit to bolt directly to common subplates. The valve accommodates a maximum flow of 946 l/min (250 US gpm), letting high-volume cylinders or motors move at design speed. A rated working pressure of 207 bar (3000 psi) enables operation in high-pressure circuits without derating. The spring-centered spool returns to neutral automatically when the coils are de-energized, restoring the circuit to its safe state. Spool code 3 keeps P and B closed while port A vents to T in center, preventing pump flow yet allowing one service line to depressurize. Pilot actuation begins at 10.3 bar (150 psi) in either p→a or p→b direction, defining the minimum control pressure to shift the main spool.
An internal pilot pressure source removes the need for an external pilot line, simplifying manifold layout. The internal pilot drain, identified by code T, routes pilot oil back through the body so no separate return hose is required. The pilot stage tolerates up to 207 bar (3000 psi), allowing full system pressure to be used for actuation. The external T-port can also withstand 207 bar (3000 psi), which lets designers connect the tank line to remote return circuits that may experience elevated back-pressure. When solenoid A is energized, flow is directed from P to A, sending supply pressure to the associated actuator port. Energizing solenoid B shifts the spool so flow passes from P to B, feeding the opposite port for reverse motion. These discrete flow paths give predictable bidirectional control while the valve’s internal features manage pilot oil, protect against overpressure, and maintain high flow capability.
