The DG5S-8-8C-2-E-VM-FW-B5-30 directional valve belongs to the DG5 Two-Stage Directional Valves series from Vickers and is used to route pressurized fluid in automated hydraulic systems. It operates with an external pilot pressure supply so that control flow is isolated from the main flow, and the pilot drain is also external to prevent back pressure within the cover. The pilot drain line must not exceed 100 bar (1450 psi), while the ports p, A, and B are rated for 210 bar (3000 psi) to match the maximum tank pressure that the housing can withstand. When system demand reaches 170 L/min (45 USgpm), the tandem P–T spool with an open crossover maintains stable flow paths, and the spring-centered return positions the spool when coils are de-energized.
The valve is supplied with flying-lead coils that accept 110 VAC at 50 Hz or 120 VAC at 60 Hz, and each coil shifts by position according to Code V to achieve bidirectional actuation within 0.110 s. Electrical entry is provided by a 1/2 NPT threaded housing so conduit sealing complies with common plant practices. Mechanical installation follows the ISO 4401-08 (NFPA D08) pattern, and the four mounting bolts are tightened to 79 N·m (700 lbf·in) to secure the interface gasket. A mass of 16.1 kg (35.5 lb) must be supported during installation, but once fastened the assembly delivers consistent switching performance under the stated pressure and flow limits.
