The DG5S-8-33C-T-K-M-FW-B6-40 is manufactured by Vickers in the DG5 Two-Stage Directional Valves series and is applied to shift flow paths in hydraulic automation circuits. Its spool type 33 keeps port P closed while ports A and B open to tank in the centered position, and a spring-centered arrangement returns the element to neutral when the solenoid is de-energized. The valve can process a recommended 170 L/min (45 US gpm) during normal service yet tolerates 380 L/min (100 US gpm) at 210 bar without malfunction, supporting high-flow actuators. Service ports P, A, and B are rated for 210 bar (3000 psi), the same limit assigned to the pilot pressure, so the main and pilot stages share identical pressure capability. A pressure-port check valve set at 0.35 bar (5 psi) blocks reverse flow into the supply line during load shifts. Mounting follows the ISO 4401-08 (NFPA D08) interface, and the bolts should be tightened to a maximum of 79 N·m (700 lb-in) to maintain gasket compression. The pilot drain is internal, removing the need for a separate drain line and simplifying manifold design.

Actuation is provided by a flying-lead coil that eases direct connection inside crowded control enclosures, while the coil accepts 110 VAC at 50 Hz or 120 VAC at 60 Hz so it can be wired to standard industrial power supplies. Leads exit through a wiring housing tapped for a 1/2-inch NPT conduit thread, offering mechanical protection to the cable. The tank port withstands 210 bar whether the return oil is routed externally or through the internal drain gallery, giving designers flexibility in plumbing layouts. The pilot valve’s own tank passage is also rated for 210 bar, preventing differential pressure limits between stages.
