The CVI-40-C10F-C-40 valve is part of the Cartridge Valves series from Vickers and is intended for hydraulic automation circuits that require controlled pressure relief through a fixed orifice. It fits nominal size 40 cavities, so it can be installed in NG40 manifolds that handle large flow rates. The interface conforms to ISO 7368 (DIN 24342), letting users mount the unit in standardized blocks without extra machining. Its relief with a fixed orifice function keeps the area ratio at 1:1, giving predictable lift as pressure rises. Piloting occurs through the spool, which shortens internal flow paths and improves response time. The assembly tolerates operating pressures up to 350 bar (5000 psi), protecting downstream components in high-pressure circuits. At a 5 bar differential it passes 1700 L/min (450 US gpm), supporting rapid actuator movement in large machines.
Ambient temperatures can range from −20 °C to +70 °C, so the valve suits equipment exposed to outdoor or minimally conditioned environments. With petroleum oil, fluid temperature may vary from −20 °C to +80 °C (−4 °F to 176 °F) without compromising performance. Acceptable viscosity spans 5 cSt to 500 cSt, covering both cold-start and normal operating conditions. When the system uses high water-base fluids, pressure must be limited to 70 bar (1000 psi) to prevent erosion and cavitation. A standard Buna-N seal package gives compatibility with common hydraulic oils while maintaining elasticity across the stated temperature range. These environmental, fluid, and pressure limits ensure the valve delivers consistent relief behavior in mobile and industrial installations.
