As a pilot-operated pressure relief unit, it opens gradually to divert flow and stabilize circuit pressure. The component is supplied as a sandwich plate valve so it can be stacked between subplates without extra piping. Its P–T relief function routes excess pressure from the pressure port to the tank port, preventing overload. The adjustment sleeve with a hex and cap lets maintenance staff set the required pressure with a wrench while securing the setting against tampering. The device can be tuned up to a maximum set pressure of 200 bar and remains safe up to a maximum operating pressure of 315 bar. A counter pressure of up to 40 bar is acceptable at the tank line, and oils between 10 and 800 mm²/s viscosity are supported.

System cleanliness must meet ISO 4406 (c) code 20/18/15 so that internal passages remain free of abrasive particles. No locating hole is provided, so external dowels or bolts must guide the plate during assembly.
