Pilot supply is external, letting the designer choose a stabilized control pressure, whereas pilot drain is internal, returning oil through port T which may see up to 30 bar. Downstream of the supply a ZDR 6 DP0-4X/40YM-W80 pressure reducing valve maintains a constant pilot level.
