The PSV25/SV25 6974019 62 variable vane pump is built by Bosch Rexroth for the PSV Variable Vane Pumps series. It supplies adjustable hydraulic flow for industrial automation circuits that demand compact power sources. The pump’s theoretical displacement is 2.6 in³/rev (42.6 ml/rev), so it delivers a fixed volume with every shaft turn. When driven at 1800 rpm and with a 100 psi outlet, the unit provides 20 gpm (75.7 l/min), which matches typical medium-duty actuator groups. Operation is allowed up to 1800 rpm while remaining efficient, and it can be slowed to 750 rpm to accommodate standby or low-demand cycles. The thru-shaft accepts up to 20 HP at rated speed, enabling direct coupling to standard electric motors. A right-hand rotation simplifies interchange with common clockwise systems. The flange-mounted housing weighs 33 kg (72 lb), and Viton seals resist petroleum-based fluids and moderate heat.
For circuit integrity, the pump tolerates a continuous system pressure of 1000 psi (69 bar), permitting use in moderate-pressure servo manifolds. Case drain flow is limited to 1.6 l/min at 1000 psi so heat generation in the case remains low. The case itself must not see more than 10 psi (0.7 bar), protecting internal bearings and shaft seals. Suction limits include a maximum inlet pressure of 1.7 bar abs (24.5 psia) and a minimum of 0.8 bar abs (11.6 psia), giving designers a narrow window that prevents cavitation. In high-lift reservoir arrangements, allowable inlet vacuum is 6 in Hg (152 mm Hg), which maintains adequate fluid column height. Start-up is permitted with oil viscosities up to 4000 SUS (864 cSt), ensuring safe commissioning in cold plants. A 10 µm return-line filter is specified to keep vane clearances free of abrasive particles and maintain operating life.
