The FESX 25CA-1X/210LZ4M throttle valve belongs to the FES Throttle Valves series and is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth for controlling flow in hydraulic automation systems. It routes hydraulic fluid from port A to port B with pilot flow from X to A, defining the permitted direction of flow. The housing tolerates a maximum operating pressure of 315 bar so it can be inserted into high-pressure circuits. An internal area ratio of 2:1 between lands 14 and 15 balances forces on the spool and stabilizes throttling behavior. Pilot oil is taken internally from port A to X, which eliminates external pilot plumbing. A stepped pilot oil volume of 5.0 l/min at port Y supplies enough oil for reliable actuation under load. The valve is intended for mineral oils of type HL or HLP according to DIN 51524, aligning it with standard power unit fluids. Continuous service is supported across a fluid temperature window of –20 °C to +80 °C, and the design accepts viscosities from 15 to 380 mm²/s to accommodate seasonal or system variations.
Internal leakage from ports A or B to X via Y is limited to 0.2 l/min at 315 bar, reducing energy loss and heat generation. Flow repeatability is aided by a hysteresis not exceeding 0.2 %, while a maximum inversion range of 0.15 % keeps the characteristic curve nearly linear. Response sensitivity is held to 0.1 %, allowing small command changes to produce predictable flow shifts. For contamination control the main stage requires oil cleanliness level ISO 4406 20/18/15, and the pilot stage needs ISO 4406 17/15/12 to protect its smaller passages. Installation onto a manifold uses M12 × 60 screws in compliance with ISO 4762-10.9 to provide adequate tensile strength, and each screw must be tightened to 75 Nm to secure the valve against pressure-induced movement.
