The outer diameter is 12.7 mm with a ±0.3 mm tolerance, allowing accurate sizing of cable glands and drag-chain channels, and each meter weighs 0.44 kg, which informs load calculations on moving axes. Radiation-crosslinked copolymer insulation withstands thermal cycling near hydraulic power units, while a radiation-crosslinked polyolefin jacket resists oils and hydraulic fluids. A dedicated cable protection pipe shields the assembly against abrasion where it passes through steel frames, and it tolerates ±10 °/m torsion so that articulated joints can rotate without stressing the cores.
