The DBDS20K1X/280E pressure relief valve belongs to the DB Pressure Relief Valves series and is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth for hydraulic automation systems that require controlled pressure limiting. It is supplied as a screw-in cartridge, so installation into standard blocks is direct, and its nominal size 20 allows medium flow paths without excessive restriction. The bushing with a hexagon protective cap is the adjustment interface, enabling technicians to set the spring preload while shielding the screw against accidental movement. A mounting thread of M45 × 1.5 matches common manifold ports, and the cartridge can be oriented in any position, which simplifies layout inside compact power units. Sealing is handled by NBR elastomers that are compatible with HLP hydraulic fluid defined in DIN 51524, so the valve can operate in mineral-oil circuits without external adapters.

The hydraulic circuit feeding this model must maintain an oil cleanliness of 20/18/15 per ISO 4406 to prevent seat erosion and ensure repeatable pressure release. At commissioning, the cartridge leaves the factory with a flow setting of 2 l/min so test benches can be pressurized without additional tuning. A lock nut requiring 10 Nm secures the chosen pressure after adjustment, while the cartridge body needs 300 Nm of tightening torque when being screwed into the manifold to guarantee leak-free seating. Operating limits reach 400 bar on the inlet side and 315 bar on the outlet path, giving designers headroom for transient peaks in high-pressure lines. During normal service, the spring stack is calibrated to open at 280 bar, allowing the valve to protect pumps and actuators from overload without throttling routine working pressures.
