OCW S 3 F 30

The OCW S 3 F 30 heat exchanger is part of the Vickers Hydraulic Accessories series and is manufactured by Vickers. It is applied in hydraulic automation to remove heat from oil circuits and maintain stable fluid viscosity. The unit uses a fixed tube bundle construction so the tubes stay rigid under pressure and thermal stress. A steel shell provides mechanical strength, while copper tubes give high thermal conductivity to move heat into the cooling water. The shell includes an internal multiple fin arrangement that enlarges the exchange surface and raises cooling efficiency with limited flow. Physical dimensions of 258.826 mm in length and 63.500 mm in width let the cooler fit into narrow power packs and manifold blocks.

The device tolerates an oil side operating pressure of 34 bar, enabling it to work on common high-pressure hydraulic returns. On the water side it can accept up to 10 bar, matching closed-loop industrial water supplies. These pressure limits preserve the tube geometry and prevent mixing of the two fluids during transients. The maximum operating temperature is 149 °C, so the cooler can handle hot discharge oil without loss of integrity. A drain port threaded 0.125 NPTF is provided to empty residual fluid during maintenance or winterization and simplify cleaning of the copper passages. The overall height of 63.500 mm enhances mounting flexibility in compact reservoirs while keeping sufficient cross-section for fluid passage and airflow around the steel shell.
