The 458141 coil assembly is supplied by Vickers as part of the Vickers Hydraulic Accessories series and is intended to actuate directional valves in hydraulic automation systems. The coil is an AC full-power unit that delivers the magnetic force required to shift a spool when energized. It accepts 110 VAC at 50 Hz or 120 VAC at 60 Hz, letting it interface with common control voltages. At 50 Hz it draws 61 VA, a figure used to size upstream circuit protection. The construction supports continuous duty at 100 % ED, so the valve can remain energized without timed cooldown. Field wiring is completed on M3 screw terminals that secure small control conductors and maintain vibration resistance.

An M20 × 1.5 conduit entry on the J-style junction box provides the threaded path for electrical service and simplifies sealing against oil mist. When supplied at 60 Hz the apparent power drops to 58 VA, lowering winding temperature while retaining pull-in force. The coil remains functional in ambient conditions from –20 °C (–4 °F) up to 70 °C (158 °F), allowing installation near unheated equipment or warm hydraulic reservoirs. These temperature limits protect insulation from cracking or thermal breakdown, and the threaded entry, reduced 60 Hz load, and wide thermal range together support reliable activation in diverse industrial environments.
