The SM440(30)11380/5010S25 servo valve is produced by Vickers within the Servo Valves series and is used to modulate hydraulic flow in automated machinery. The design accepts supply pressures between 14 bar (200 psi) and 210 bar (3000 psi), enabling operation in compact low-pressure test rigs or full-scale industrial systems. A proof pressure at the supply port equal to 150 % of the maximum supply accommodates transient spikes during start-up. The return side survives a burst event at 250 % of the maximum supply so accidental back-pressure will not rupture the housing. At 70 bar the metering stage delivers 113 l/min (30 USgpm), providing rapid actuator response. Electrical interface is through an MS3106-14S-2S four-pin connector, and the armature coil measures 80 ohms to match common servo amplifiers. Command current is rated at 50 mA, while hysteresis around null stays within 3 % of that value to keep the spool centered after direction changes.

Continuous service is permitted up to 135 °C (275 °F), allowing placement near heat-loaded pumps or engines. Porting is arranged on a 44.46 mm (1.75 in) circle to align with ISO pattern subplates. Four bolting points drilled to 8.33 mm (0.33 in) keep the housing rigid during pressure cycling. Fluid sealing relies on AS568-018 O-rings; each ring presents a 1.78 mm (0.070 in) cross-section and an 18.77 mm (0.739 in) inner diameter to block external leakage. These mechanical and thermal characteristics let the SM440(30)11380/5010S25 maintain stable flow in servo loops exposed to vibration, pressure fluctuation, and elevated oil temperature.
