The SM420(20)76200/2010 servo valve is produced by Vickers as part of the Servo Valves series and is intended to modulate hydraulic flow and pressure in automated motion circuits. It can deliver 76 L/min (20 US gpm) to cylinders or motors, and this rating is referenced to a 70 bar (1000 psi) pressure drop so flow remains proportional across typical loads. The unit tolerates supply lines up to 3000 psi while still operating down to 14 bar (200 psi), giving a broad working window. Dynamic behavior is quick, with a 100 % step response completed in 20 ms, a –3 dB bandwidth of 35 Hz, and the 90° phase point at 95 Hz, enabling tight position or force loops. The return port withstands bursts to 250 % of maximum supply pressure, protecting the body during shock events.
Control signals reach the torque motor through a 20 mA coil that has a resistance of 200 Ω, simplifying drive card sizing. Wiring is handled by an MS-3106-14S-2S four-pin connector that locks to standard military circular cables. A 35 μm absolute pilot stage filter keeps contaminants out of the nozzle-flapper stage and preserves response. Manifold mounting uses a 0.875 in (22.2 mm) port circle, and sealing is achieved with AS568-013 O-rings for leak prevention. The valve stands 71.882 mm (2.830 in) tall, allowing close stacking on compact subplates, and continuous service is permitted up to 135 °C (275 °F), supporting installation near hot power units or in high-ambient enclosures.
