The SM4-20(2.5)9-30/100-10 is a two-stage four-way servovalve in the Servo Valves series from Vickers, built to meter hydraulic flow in closed-loop automation. It provides a rated flow of 9 l/min (2.5 US gpm) at 70 bar so actuators receive repeatable volume under standard test conditions. A minimum supply pressure of 14 bar (200 psi) keeps the spool centered and responsive during low-load startup. Each coil shows 30 ohms resistance at 21 °C, and a rated current of 100 mA per coil establishes the drive signal required from the servo amplifier. The electrical interface uses an MS-3106-14S-2S four-pin connector to simplify field wiring and maintenance. An integral pilot filter with a 35 µm absolute rating prevents particulate contamination from reaching the nozzle-flapper stage. When pilot pressure reaches 70 bar the maximum pilot flow remains limited to 0.35 l/min (0.092 US gpm), protecting the control orifice from erosion.
Structural limits are set so hydraulic circuits operate safely: the open return line can withstand burst pressure equal to 250 percent of maximum supply, while the supply port tolerates proof pressure up to 150 percent and the return port holds 100 percent of the same reference. A maximum operating temperature of 135 °C (275 °F) allows installation near hot manifolds without degrading seals. Mounting follows a port circle diameter of 22.2 mm, which aligns the body with standardized subplates. The seal package uses O-rings having a 1.78 mm cross-section and a 10.82 mm inside diameter to contain flow between valve and manifold. These mechanical ratings combine to maintain leak-free service life under continuous modulation demanded by industrial hydraulic position or force control loops.
