The SM4-20(2.5)9-200/20-10 servo valve is built by Vickers for the Servo Valves series and meters flow in hydraulic automation loops. It delivers a rated flow of 9 l/min (2.5 USgpm) when the pressure drop across the valve is held at 70 bar (1000 psi). Stable operation requires a minimum supply pressure of 14 bar (200 psi). The electromagnetic stage is driven by coils that accept 20 mA each, while a resistance of 200 ohm at 21 °C defines the voltage needed to reach that current. Polarity is arranged so that an A+ or C+ command drives flow out of port B, simplifying circuit logic. Electrical connection is made through an MS-3106-14S-2S four-pin plug, and sustained service is possible up to 135 °C (275 °F) fluid temperature.
Correct installation calls for mounting screws tightened to 14–15 Nm, against a manifold surface that is flat within 0.025 mm (0.001 in) and finished to 32 µin to avoid leakage paths. Port sealing is handled by AS568-013 O-rings that have a 1.78 mm cross section and a 10.82 mm inside diameter, seated on a 22.2 mm (0.875 in) port circle. A pilot filter rated at 35 µm absolute protects the servo stages from particulate ingress. These mechanical and filtration details maintain the commanded flow accuracy established by the electrical and hydraulic ratings stated earlier.
