PVH131R

The PVH131R pump belongs to the PVH and PVE Open-Circuit Piston Pumps series and is manufactured by Vickers for hydraulic automation where a compact unit must supply consistent oil flow to actuators. With a maximum geometric displacement of 131.1 cm³ per revolution, the pump determines the volume delivered each shaft turn. At a system pressure of 250 bar it produces a typical effective flow of 249 l/min. Rated speed reaches 2500 r/min when the inlet pressure is 0.48 bar, while applications that run with zero inlet pressure must limit speed to 2000 r/min to prevent cavitation. The shaft rotates right-hand clockwise, so plumbing and drive orientation must match that direction. A rotor moment of inertia of 0.0210 N·m·s² defines the torque needed for rapid acceleration.

Fluid quality and thermal boundaries further shape installation requirements. The hydraulic oil must maintain a cleanliness level of 16/14/12 when operating above 3000 psi to protect internal surfaces from abrasive wear. Cold starts are permitted only if viscosity does not exceed 5000 cSt, ensuring the drive motor can overcome internal friction without overstressing couplings. Case-drain pressure is limited to 0.5 bar, so return lines must stay free-flowing to avoid seal damage. Petroleum-based fluids can enter the pump at temperatures up to 93 °C, and intermittent operation is acceptable until the fluid reaches 104 °C, after which cooling is required to preserve elastomer life. These limits complement the performance ratings outlined above and allow the PVH131R to operate reliably across diverse duty cycles.
