The PPD22A-N-6 proportional valve belongs to the Proportional Valves series from Vickers and is applied in hydraulic automation systems to modulate pressure with an electrically driven spool. It fits into an A3531 cavity and is secured by a 3/4-16 UNF-2A mounting thread, tightened to an installation torque of 30 Nm (22 ft-lb) to prevent leakage at high pressure. The removable coil is held with 3.4 Nm (2.5 ft-lb) on the coil nut, and the design accepts the C16 coil option so machine builders can match supply voltage and power ratings. This cartridge withstands an inlet pressure of 210 bar (3000 psi) and passes up to 20 l/min (5.3 US gpm) when commanded fully open. Its mass of 0.25 kg (0.55 lb) allows uncomplicated handling during manifold assembly.
A screw-type manual override lets technicians shift the valve without electrical power for setup or fault recovery. When energized with a 19 W coil, the valve limits downstream pressure to 24 bar (350 psi); using a 29 W coil raises the maximum reduced pressure to 28 bar (405 psi) for circuits that need a higher setting. The control loop exhibits a threshold current of 19 percent of maximum current and shows a maximum hysteresis of 16 percent when no PWM is applied, so pressure repeatability depends on precise driver tuning. A drive frequency of 200 Hz is recommended for PWM control to minimize dithering noise while improving linearity. Internal leakage remains below 50 ml/min at the 210 bar supply line, preserving efficiency in standby conditions. Nitrile (Buna-N) seals resist common hydraulic oils and maintain integrity across the stated pressure range.
