The RCG03B223 valve is part of the Pressure Control Valves series produced by Vickers. It is used in hydraulic automation to maintain a stable pressure level in machine circuits. Pilot operated actuation lets it sense upstream pressure and open proportionally to demand, while a two-stage layout combines rapid main flow with precise pilot control. The valve mounts on size 03 subplates or manifold cavities, simplifying replacement in standardized blocks. An internal check valve permits reverse flow without affecting the regulated path. Maximum working pressure reaches 140 bar (2000 psi), so it suits medium-pressure lines on presses and test rigs. Rated flow capacity is 45 L/min, equivalent to 12.0 US gpm, providing adequate volume for small to mid-size actuators during peak demand.
System setpoint is adjusted by a screw with a locknut, allowing maintenance staff to fix the desired relief value against vibration. The unit has no electrical connection, therefore all feedback and control remain hydraulic, reducing wiring complexity in fluid-power panels. It is intended for petroleum-based oils, and nitrile seals contain those fluids while resisting common additives. Clean operation requires oil cleanliness of ISO 19/17/14 or better to protect the pilot stage from clogging. Service temperatures can range from −20 °C (−4 °F) up to 70 °C (158 °F), which covers most mobile and industrial environments. By regulating pressure under these conditions, the valve meets the functional role of pressure control without additional electronics.
