The DG4V37CMWB40 directional valve is part of the DG4 Directional Valves series from Vickers and is employed to shift hydraulic flow paths in automated circuits. It handles a rated flow of 40 l/min (10.5 USgpm) so actuators receive consistent volume during machine cycles. A maximum working pressure of 350 bar (5000 psi) on ports P, A, and B permits operation in high-pressure manifolds without derating. In the centered position its spool keeps pressure supply P connected to work ports A and B while port T is blocked; this P-to-A & B open, T blocked center function allows immediate pressure availability while preventing tank flow when the solenoids are de-energized. The spring centered arrangement returns the spool to this neutral condition automatically once power is removed. Actuation relies on wet armature solenoids built for continuous service, and a duty cycle of 100% ED ensures the coils may remain energized indefinitely. Thermal endurance is improved by Class F coil encapsulation, while Class H insulation resists higher winding temperatures during sustained operation.
With both solenoids fitted the valve weighs 2.2 kg (4.8 lb), allowing straightforward handling during manifold assembly. Environmental sealing reaches IP67 when an ISO 4400 plug is attached, so wash-down or splash zones will not compromise the electrics. Installation follows the ISO 4401-AB-03-4-A pattern, which corresponds to CETOP 3 and NFPA D03 sizes, letting the body mount directly on common subplates. Retaining hardware uses M5-0.8-6H or 10-24 UNC-2B bolts, and proper clamp force is achieved with a torque of 4.5–6.0 N·m (40–50 lbf·in). Hydraulic cleanliness must meet ISO 19/17/14 to keep the spool and lands free from abrasive wear and sticking.
