The DG4V37AMWH40 directional control valve is produced by Vickers for the DG4 Directional Valves series. It regulates hydraulic flow in automation circuits by shifting an open-center spool that ports pressure to A and B while blocking T. The spool is held in a spring offset, end-to-end arrangement so it returns to its default position when the coil is de-energized. Actuation is provided by a wet armature solenoid rated for 24 V DC supply. The coil draws 30 W during operation, and continuous energization is permitted because the duty factor is 100 % ED. A plain manual override located at the solenoid end allows hand shifting for setup or emergency use. System pressure capability reaches 350 bar (5000 psi) at ports P, A, and B, supporting high-pressure machinery.
For installation, the valve matches the ISO 4401-AB-03-4-A mounting interface, also identified as CETOP 3 or NFPA D03. It secures with M5-0.8 or 10-24 UNC bolts, and the specified tightening torque of 4.5 to 6.0 N·m maintains gasket compression. Proper bolt selection according to the thread specification prevents distortion of the housing. The mounting surface must stay within 0.013 mm flatness, and a roughness not exceeding 1.1 µm Ra (45 µin) ensures proper sealing. Clean hydraulic fluid at ISO 4406 code 19/17/14 purity is required to limit wear and extend service life. The single-solenoid version weighs 1.6 kg, allowing easy handling during assembly.
