Spool 8 metering geometry defines the overlap and crossover characteristics needed in proportional feed circuits, while a spring-centered three-position arrangement returns the spool to neutral when the coil is de-energized.
The unit tolerates a maximum operating pressure of 3000 psi in its pressure ports, enabling use in medium-pressure mobile or industrial systems, and it passes up to 20 gpm so circuit designers can size pumps and actuators accordingly. A tank port rating of 1000 psi permits moderate back pressure without damaging the housing. Petroleum-based hydraulic oils are specified as the compatible fluid, and Buna-N seals contain these media while resisting swelling. To sustain spool accuracy and reduce wear, the hydraulic fluid must meet a cleanliness level of 20/18/15 or better. Reliable function is maintained from 20 °C to 50 °C, giving the assembly a suitable temperature window for most plant environments.
