The DG4S4012A50 directional valve is produced by Vickers for the DG4 Directional Valves series and directs hydraulic flow in automated equipment. It is solenoid operated so an electrical signal shifts the spool instead of mechanical force. The coil accepts 115 VAC at 60 Hz, aligning with North American control panels, and the flying lead coil simplifies routing through conduit. Because no manual override is fitted, the spool cannot be moved by hand during servicing. This unit operates as a single stage design, eliminating pilot circuitry, and uses spool type 2 to establish its predefined flow paths. A spring offset automatically returns the spool when the coil is de-energized, ensuring a known fail-safe position.
The valve passes up to 20 GPM (75.7 L/min) without excess pressure drop and withstands system pressures to 210 bar (3000 psi). An ISO 4401-05 mounting pattern allows direct installation on standardized subplates, speeding assembly. Petroleum oils are the intended fluid, and Buna-N seals contain these media while resisting common additives. System cleanliness must meet ISO 20/18/15 to prevent sticking or premature wear of the metering edges. The body measures 12.540 in long, 2.810 in wide, and 3.850 in high, enabling placement in compact manifolds or power units.
