The DG4S4-012C-U-B-60 directional valve is built by Vickers for the DG4 Directional Valves series and is intended to shift hydraulic flow in automated circuits. It uses solenoid operation to move the spool, so electrical signals can initiate flow changes without manual intervention. The coil is rated for 110 VAC at 50 Hz or 120 VAC at 60 Hz, allowing installation on common plant power supplies. An ISO 4400 (DIN 43650) connector provides a standardized electrical interface for quick wiring and maintenance. The hydraulic interface follows ISO 4401-05, also known as NFPA D05, which aligns the port pattern with widely used subplates. Because the unit is subplate or manifold mounted, technicians can swap it without disturbing hard plumbing. Internally, a two-way closed-center spool blocks all ports when the solenoids are de-energized, maintaining load position. A spring-centered three-position arrangement returns the spool to neutral automatically when power is removed, and the single-stage design keeps the response straightforward. There is no manual override, so actuation is limited to the electrical command path.
The valve handles system pressures up to 3600 psi, giving it capacity for high-pressure industrial machinery. The tank port is limited to 1000 psi to protect return-line components from overloading. A maximum flow rate of 25 gpm lets the device service medium-sized actuators without excessive pressure drop. It is intended for petroleum-based hydraulic oils, simplifying fluid selection in conventional systems. Operation requires oil cleanliness at ISO 20/18/15 or better to avoid spool binding and premature wear. Buna-N seals are fitted to resist swelling or leakage when exposed to standard mineral fluids. There is no indicator light, so status must be monitored through the control system rather than a visual cue on the valve body; this omission also reduces wiring complexity and component count within tight manifolds.
