The 180L1001 solenoid valve is manufactured by Danfoss for the VDHT Solenoid Valves series and serves as an on-off element in hydraulic automation loops. It is a normally closed unit, so media stays isolated until the coil energizes and lifts the poppet. A valve body in stainless steel AISI 304 provides corrosion resistance to common hydraulic fluids, while a piston produced from stainless steel AISI 316 delivers additional strength against wear. The piston diameter of 35.1 mm enlarges the seating area, contributing to stable sealing at the rated pressure. Both process ports employ the NPT thread standard, streamlining assembly with standard pipe fittings, and each port measures 1 in to keep flow symmetry across the valve. Sealing surfaces rely on FPM elastomer, enabling compatibility with petroleum-based oils and moderate temperatures.
The construction supports working pressures up to 140 barg, allowing the valve to control high-pressure lines without external reinforcement. Media temperatures can reach 90 °C before material limits are approached, and viscosities are accepted up to 45 mm²/s so common ISO hydraulic oils pass without stick-slip. A nominal flow rating of 150 l/min covers mid-range cylinders and motor circuits, while pilot operation demands only 1 l/min, reducing the load on auxiliary pumps. To protect internal passages, the upstream filter should restrict particles to 200 µm or smaller. Flow behavior is tuned by the supplied orifice kit 1, ensuring the published capacity is maintained after installation. The assembly weighs 7 kg without the coil, a consideration when sizing brackets or when mounting directly on manifolds subject to vibration.
