The 180L0173 solenoid valve is part of the VDHT Solenoid Valves series manufactured by Danfoss for hydraulic automation where reliable on-off flow control is required. It employs direct pilot operation so the coil can shift the valve without an external pressure source, reducing system complexity. The 3/2-way layout allows the device to alternate a single inlet between two flow paths or isolate the circuit in the de-energized state. An actuator size of 13.5 mm generates sufficient magnetic force in a compact envelope, while an 18 mm piston diameter provides a stable sealing surface for repeated cycling. Opening time is 250 ms, giving a response speed suited to general industrial dosing and positioning duties.
The housing is formed from AISI 304 stainless steel to resist corrosion, and the dynamic sealing elements use FKM to handle common hydraulic oils and mild chemicals. Operating pressure spans 2 barg to 140 barg so the valve can function in both low-pressure pilot lines and high-pressure supply circuits. Maximum flow is 15 l/min, matching small to medium actuator demands without excessive pressure loss. BSP threaded connections let installers mate the valve with standard fittings, and both the inlet and outlet ports are 3/8 in to keep piping sizes consistent. Acceptable media temperatures run from 2 °C to 50 °C, allowing service with chilled water or moderately warm process fluids.
