The 180L0100 solenoid valve belongs to the VDHT Solenoid Valves series and is manufactured by Danfoss for hydraulic automation circuits. As a pilot-operated ON/OFF device, it opens or closes flow in response to a small control signal that suits remote actuation tasks. The valve uses a 2/2-way configuration so fluid passes straight through or is completely blocked depending on coil energization. In its normal state it remains normally closed, keeping lines isolated during power loss. A rated flow of 30 l/min supports medium-capacity circuits in mobile or industrial machinery. The unit is designed to work at an operating pressure of 3.5 barg during regular service while withstanding peaks up to 160 barg. Reliable switching requires a minimum pilot flow of 1 l/min so the internal piston can shift fully. Installation is through a G 3/8 BSP connection thread, allowing it to mate with common hydraulic manifolds and pipe fittings.
The housing is built from stainless steel AISI 304 to resist corrosion when exposed to aggressive media or outdoor environments. Primary sealing is provided by FKM material, and the O-ring made from FPM delivers additional leakage protection at static joints. An 18.1 mm piston diameter gives the pilot stage sufficient area to transmit force from the control pressure to the main seat. Media temperatures can reach 90 °C without degrading mechanical parts, and permissible viscosity extends to 45 mm²/s so the valve handles typical mineral oils. Flow changes direction along an angular path, which lets designers place the valve in compact block layouts. The assembly weighs 1.2 kg without a coil, simplifying handling during maintenance or replacement.
