The 180L0091 solenoid valve belongs to the VDHT Solenoid Valves series and is produced by Danfoss for hydraulic automation duties where on-off flow control is required. It is built as a 2/2 valve, giving one inlet and one outlet that open or close together. The unit is pilot operated to reduce coil force during high-pressure shifts, and it defaults to the normally closed state to stop flow when power is removed. Electrical actuation is provided by a coil, so simple wiring can trigger operation from PLC outputs. A maximum operating pressure of 160 barg allows use in demanding circuits, while the BSP thread pattern matches common pipework. The inlet is 3/4 in to accept main supply, and a 1/2 in outlet directs fluid to downstream equipment.
The housing is stainless steel AISI 304, which resists corrosion in hydraulic oils and water-based media. A piston diameter of 18 mm sets the passage area and supports a maximum flow rate of 60 l/min when the valve is fully open. Reliable actuation needs at least 1 l/min pilot flow, ensuring the pilot stage can shift under light system demand. The design handles fluids up to 45 mm²/s viscosity, maintaining response with standard oils, and it tolerates media temperatures to 90 °C before thermal limits are reached. Upstream filtration must keep particle size below 200 µm to protect the pilot passages from blockage. FPM sealing material provides chemical resistance and maintains tight closure across the specified pressure and temperature range.
