The 180L0049 solenoid valve is manufactured by Danfoss as part of the VDHT Solenoid Valves series. As a pilot operated unit for hydraulic automation, it directs fluid when electrically actuated, allowing remote control of circuit paths. The normally open configuration maintains flow during de-energized states, supporting safety circuits that require fail-open operation. A 2/2 way layout provides a single inlet and outlet, simplifying installation in straightforward on–off duties. The actuator measures 13.5 mm, so coil force requirements stay moderate while ensuring responsive movement. Internally, a piston with an 18 mm diameter transfers magnetic force to the seat and stabilizes the passage under pressure. The valve opens fully within 150 ms to enable rapid supply to downstream actuators, and it reseats in 350 ms to prevent pressure spikes on shutdown. All ports follow the CETOP 3 mounting pattern, so the component fits directly on standardized subplates without adapters.
Its wetted parts are formed from AISI 304 stainless steel to resist corrosion in water-glycol and light oil media, while FKM seals contain these fluids without swelling under thermal cycling. The housing tolerates operating pressures up to 140 barg yet still responds reliably at the 4 barg minimum needed for pilot lift, giving a wide control band for low and high demand lines. Flow capacity spans 1 to 30 l/min, allowing the same valve to serve both small signal lines and moderate service circuits. Media temperatures can range from 3 °C for chilled water up to 50 °C in warm return branches, supporting varied plant conditions without loss of sealing integrity. Together these characteristics allow the 180L0049 valve to deliver consistent shutoff and restart performance across typical industrial hydraulic and coolant systems.
