The 180L0005 solenoid valve is part of the VDHT Solenoid Valves series manufactured by Danfoss for hydraulic automation tasks that require electrically controlled on-off flow. It is pilot operated, so line pressure assists the coil in moving the internal poppet. A 2/2 way layout provides one inlet and one outlet arranged in a straightway configuration to minimize pressure loss. Both ports are threaded for 1/2 inch pipe, which simplifies replacement in existing circuits. The actuator measures 13.5 mm, giving a compact envelope while still producing the stroke force needed for reliable shifting. When the coil is energized, the valve reaches full flow after an opening time of 150 ms, allowing quick response in sequential control schemes.
The valve body is machined from AISI 304 stainless steel to offer corrosion resistance in mineral oils or water-glycol blends, and it mounts on a Cetop 3 subplate so manifold assembly is straightforward. An 18 mm piston guides movement under pressures up to 140 barg without galling. The design accommodates media temperatures to 50 °C and delivers a maximum flow of 120 l/min for medium-size actuators. De-energizing the coil returns the spool to the seat in 400 ms, limiting hydraulic shock during shutdown. Sealing surfaces use FKM elastomer to hold tight shutoff over the stated pressure and temperature range.
