The 061L1318 valve belongs to the STF Reversing Valves series and is manufactured by Danfoss for hydraulic automation systems that must reverse flow between hot and cold loops. It follows valve style B, a slide configuration that switches ports without external pilot lines. The suction port measures 10.2 mm, the evaporator-condenser connection is also 10.2 mm, and the discharge outlet is an 8.1 mm female fitting, so the high-pressure line remains smaller to maintain velocity. All tube ends are made of copper to simplify brazing. The valve handles medium temperatures from −20 °C to 120 °C, accommodating both cold suction gas and hot discharge gas. Reliable changeover requires a minimum operating pressure differential of 3 bar, and the slide will still respond up to 31 bar without sticking. A maximum working pressure of 45 bar allows use with modern high-pressure refrigerants in compact heat-pump circuits.
The unit remains functional in ambient temperatures from −20 °C to 55 °C, making rooftop or outdoor placement acceptable. It withstands vibration levels of 19.6 m/s², keeping the internal slide stable when mounted near a reciprocating compressor. Internal sealing limits cross-port leakage to 1000 cm³/min, preserving system efficiency during standby periods. At a reference condition of 0.1 bar pressure drop, the valve passes 5.52 kW of R410A on circuit C1, guiding correct sizing for residential heat pumps.
