The 061L1281 reversing valve belongs to the STF Reversing Valves series and is produced by Danfoss for hydraulic automation circuits that require a fast changeover of flow direction. It remains functional in ambient temperatures from -20 °C to 55 °C, enabling installation in both cooled machine rooms and warm rooftops. The medium may circulate between -30 °C and 140 °C, so the valve handles chilled refrigerants as well as hot gas during defrost cycles. A maximum working pressure of 45 bar defines the safe operating envelope, while a minimum operating differential pressure of 3 bar ensures the slide shifts reliably when energized. The unit tolerates a peak operating differential of 31 bar, preventing internal bypass under high-load reversals. A copper process connection provides corrosion resistance to typical refrigerants. Flow exits through a 32.05 mm female discharge port and returns through a 38.4 mm suction port, sizes chosen to match standard tubing and to minimize pressure loss.


For capacity planning, the valve passes 79.01 kW of R407C at 0.1 bar pressure drop and 102.12 kW of R410A under the same condition, supporting medium-tonnage heat pumps without excessive throttling. Maximum external leakage is limited to 10 000 cm³/min, protecting system charge during long duty cycles and reducing the frequency of refrigerant top-offs. Structural integrity is verified for 19.6 m/s² vibration, so the body withstands compressor start-ups, transport shocks, and resonance from adjacent equipment. The stated capacities are achieved with minimal internal turbulence, which keeps noise low and stabilizes suction pressure during mode changes. Tight leakage control also prevents moisture ingress that could dilute oil or corrode copper lines. The vibration allowance enables direct mounting on machinery frames, eliminating separate isolators and shortening pipe runs. Collectively, the capacity, leakage, and vibration limits define a component that maintains thermal efficiency, preserves charge, and resists mechanical fatigue throughout repeated flow reversals.
