The 061L1218 reversing valve belongs to the STF Reversing Valves series and is produced by Danfoss for directing fluid paths in hydraulic automation systems. It accepts R134a, R22, R404A, R407C, and R410A so that installers can standardize on one valve for multiple refrigerants. The unit operates in ambient conditions from -20 °C to 55 °C, allowing outdoor installation across most climates. Internally, medium temperatures can range from -20 °C to 120 °C, which accommodates both cold suction gas and hot discharge gas during cycle changes. All process connections are made from copper to simplify brazing into standard pipework. A maximum working pressure of 45 bar permits use in higher-pressure heat pump circuits without risk of deformation, while resistance to vibration up to 19.6 m/s² supports stable performance on compressor racks.
Flow ports are dimensioned for straightforward piping: the female discharge connection measures 28.9 mm, and both the suction and the evaporator/condensor connections are 35.22 mm to balance pressure drops across the valve. During operation the design limits external leakage to 6000 cm³ per minute, containing refrigerant losses within acceptable service thresholds. System designers can rely on a maximum operating differential pressure of 31 bar when selecting actuators, and changeover is still possible down to a minimum differential of 3 bar for part-load conditions. These pressure figures, in combination with the specified port dimensions, ensure predictable shift forces and stable reversing performance where tight sealing and consistent pressure control are mandatory.
