The ZDR6DP2-4X/25YM/12 valve is produced by Bosch Rexroth for the ZDR Pressure Reducing Valves series. It is deployed in hydraulic automation to lower supply pressure before it reaches sensitive actuators while coping with demanding system conditions. The unit accepts an operating pressure of 350 bar at the input so high-pressure pumps can feed the circuit without modification. Downstream pressure is held at 25 bar to protect cylinders and motors from overload. Pressure reduction occurs in channel P, guiding designers on port selection. An internal pilot oil supply removes the need for an extra feed line, and an external pilot oil return routes pilot flow safely to tank. A sleeve with a hexagon head covered by a protective cap provides secure pressure adjustment in the field. Because no check valve is fitted, reverse flow must be handled by separate components. Finally, a maximum flow rating of 50 l/min limits throughput to maintain stable regulation.
The valve keeps the working fluid within ISO 4406 (c) 20/18/15 cleanliness so critical sliding surfaces remain free of abrasive particles. It withstands 160 bar counter pressure in port T, allowing back pressure from return manifolds without disturbing control accuracy. Reliable operation is maintained with mineral oils whose viscosity lies between 10 and 800 mm²/s, giving flexibility for machines that run in varied temperatures. The body uses the ISO 4401-03-02-0-05 mounting interface, making it compatible with standardized sandwich plates. Four M5 screws to ISO 4762 grade 10.9 clamp the housing to the manifold and ensure proper gasket compression. A G1/4 gauge port lets technicians monitor secondary pressure during commissioning and service. NBR sealing elements resist common hydraulic oils and prevent external leakage.
