Pressure regulation occurs in port P, channeling the reduced flow toward the downstream system. The valve handles flows up to 80 l/min without losing regulation accuracy and tolerates 160 bar counter-pressure at port T, so return line surges do not disturb control. Internal pilot oil supply simplifies plumbing, whereas the pilot oil is returned externally to prevent heat build-up inside the housing. Sealing is achieved with NBR elastomers suited for common mineral oils, and the design omits an integrated check valve, leaving reverse flow management to external components. Fluid cleanliness must meet ISO 4406 class 20/18/15 to preserve the precision edges of the control spool. Installation aligns with the ISO 4401-05-04-0-05 mounting pattern, enabling interchange with other size-10 sandwich valves in the same stack.
