The Z2S16-3-5X/ valve is produced by Bosch Rexroth within the Z2S Check Valves series and is used to block reverse flow in hydraulic automation systems. It withstands operating pressures up to 315 bar so it can be installed in high-pressure lines. A cracking pressure of 7.5 bar defines the differential at which the poppet lifts to permit forward flow. The unit includes a pre-opening feature that begins opening before full pressure equalization to reduce pressure spikes. Leakage-free blocking in ports A and B prevents unintended actuator movement when the pump is stopped. Because the installation position can be any orientation, designers have flexibility when placing the manifold. The porting pattern follows ISO 4401-07-07-0-05, enabling direct mounting on standardized subplates without additional drilling.
The valve admits a maximum flow of 300 l/min, which supports medium-to-large actuators without excessive pressure drop. Hydraulic cleanliness must be maintained at class 20/18/15 per ISO 4406 to avoid wear of internal sealing edges. Contact surfaces are machined to Rzmax 4 µm surface roughness and flatness of 0.01 mm per 100 mm so the sealing line remains tight under load. NBR seals are fitted to handle common mineral oils used in industrial circuits. Four M10 and two M6 screws of grade ISO 4762-10.9 secure the body, and the plug screw requires a tightening torque of 70 Nm to maintain integrity under pressure cycles. A mean time to dangerous failure of 150 years (Mttfd to EN ISO 13849) indicates a very low probability of safety-related malfunction during the product’s service life.
