The 4WP6Y6X/N directional valve is produced by Bosch Rexroth within the WP Pneumatic Spool Valves series for hydraulic automation systems that need compact pneumatic piloting. It uses a 4/2-way spool to route pressure between two service ports so cylinders or motors can extend or retract under control. Pneumatic actuation shifts the spool, removing electrical heat sources in explosion-risk areas. Mounting follows porting pattern ISO 4401-03-02-0-05, and all hydraulic lines are brought out radially to fit stacked manifolds. The valve tolerates 315 bar on ports a, b, and p, while the tank port is limited to 160 bar, enabling safe return flow. A maximum flow rate of 60 l/min supports medium-flow circuits. NBR seals contain standard mineral oils. The clamping length is 42 mm, and the unit can be installed in any position without derating.
Hydraulic fluid supplied to the 4WP6Y6X/N must achieve ISO 4406 class 20/18/15 cleanliness so the spool lands remain free of abrasive particles. The pneumatic pilot circuit needs at least 4 bar to move the spool reliably and must not exceed 10 bar, protecting the internal seals. Pilot chamber volume is 4.24 cm³, so the control line can be vented quickly for responsive directional changes.
